Being a ceramic artist inspired by nature, I'm finding that creating beautiful pieces in clay is a wonderful expression for my flair for sculpture and realism.
I've created a line of pottery called Birchware that I'm sure you'll be interested in. These pieces have a beautiful outside texture. My home dec pieces, candle pillars, tea lights and vases all have tree nubs, which adds a nice touch of realism. This all began by a desire to bless my nephew and his future wife with a real keepsake for their wedding gift. I decided to make a birch vase and carved a heart and added their initials to it....just like you would see on a tree. I didn't know if it would work, but when I opened my kiln I was very pleasantly surprised to see that IT DID! IT WORKED!! It not only worked, but it was beautiful! I was so pleased, and so were they when they received their beautiful keepsake gift. My Birchware Pottery is food safe, functional and decorative. As with my Keepsake Wedding Vase, I also offer pottery and sculpture that is a one-of-a-kind creation. I'll be keeping in touch in a later update. Until then, explore your gifts! You'll never know how far you can go until you try!
